As counsel for Verizon’s State and Federal Regulatory Affairs team, Jessica leads the company’s legal and public policy analysis and advocacy strategy on cybersecurity, privacy, and AI.
Upon joining Verizon in 2020, she led the company’s philanthropy and community engagement efforts for the Northern Ohio and Cincinnati markets. Prior to that, she worked in the nonprofit and public sectors, serving on the staff of U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and later in institutional advancement and government advocacy roles for Cleveland-based nonprofits. During her tenure at Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Jessica became a recognized leader in external affairs and community relations, later serving as Vice President of External Affairs for a Cleveland-based non-profit technology start-up.
Jessica chairs the Cleveland Heights Planning Commission. She also serves on the board of the State Privacy and Security Coalition and Bikur Cholim of Cleveland (a Jewish health support organization), as well as the HR and Community Relations Committees of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. A member of the IAPP, and the ABA’s Antitrust Section and its Privacy and Information Security Committee, Jessica also serves as a Presidential Appointee to the ABA’s Cybersecurity Legal Taskforce. Jessica was selected as one of the 2015 Crain’s Cleveland Business Forty Under 40, a 2019 Cleveland Jewish News Difference Maker, a 2020 25 Under 35 Mover and Shaker, and a 2023 Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio Woman of Distinction.
She received her undergraduate degree in Government from Harvard University with citations in Spanish and Hebrew, her Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, and her Juris Doctor summa cum laude and Certificate in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy from Cleveland State University College of Law, where she was the Submissions Editor for the Cleveland State Law Review, a Dean’s Leadership Fellow, and an IAPP Westin Scholar awardee. Jessica is a member of the Ohio Bar.
Jessica and her husband Eric, a public school teacher, live in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with their five adorable children.
