Alex Gaynor currently serves as Deputy Chief Technologist at the FTC. He has previously been at the United States Digital Service twice, working on Veterans benefits, refugee admissions, and incident response. Prior to his current government service Alex was Chief Information Security Officer at Alloy and before that tech lead for one of Firefox’s security teams. Alex has served as a member of the board of directors of both the Python and Django Software Foundations and in many other capacities in the open-source ecosystem. Alex lives in Washington, DC and likes bagels and delis.
