Kirk Nahra

Kirk J. Nahra is a partner with WilmerHale in Washington, D.C., where he is co-chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation Practice. He assists companies in a wide range of industries and of all sizes in analyzing and implementing the requirements of privacy and security laws across the country and internationally. He is ranked in Band 1 for Chambers on health care privacy and security. He teaches privacy and security law issues at several law schools, including serving as an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law at American University and at Case Western Reserve University. In addition, he currently serves as a fellow with the Cordell Institute for Policy in Medicine & Law at Washington University in St. Louis and as a fellow with the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology. He received the 2021 Privacy Vanguard Award from the International Association of Privacy Professionals in recognition of his “exceptional leadership, knowledge and creativity in privacy and data protection.” He also serves as a mentor to college students, law students and other young privacy and security professionals with more than a dozen organizations. Mr. Nahra received his law degree from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
